Company Overview
Fantasy Futbol is a fantasy sports game tailor-made for European club soccer. You pick entire teams — not players — from the Big 5 leagues in Europe (UK, Spain, Italy, Germany, France), and earn points on those teams’ goals and match results. Importantly, all matches these teams play count: their league games, their domestic cups and their European tournaments.
Problem Being Solved
No fantasy sports game exists for the Big 5 ecosystem of soccer, the most important market segment of the world’s most popular game. The only genuine competition in fantasy soccer is a player-based fantasy game for the English Premier League alone (it’s called FPL). There is no game for the Spanish, German, Italian or French leagues, and there is no game for the domestic or European cups of all five countries. It is both shocking and lucky that the incumbent fantasy sports juggernauts have left this door open, and Fantasy Futbol will create the segment.
Business Plan
Two engineers are bringing my designs to life in React Native right now. I am marketing the app online and in New York City soccer bars (where I live), and already have five bars that will use branded coasters with the app’s name and QR code on it. With 60+ beta testers signed up to play V1, we are well on our way to having a battle-tested game.
The revenue strategy will unfold in three phases: (1) selling ads using Google AdMob integrations designed into V1 of the product, (2) signing sponsorships to place in high-visibility spots within the app, and (3) forming data partnerships with relevant third parties.
